Stocks Hidden Blueprint for Profiting In Stock Trades Entering, Holding and Exiting Part 2

July 31, 2008

Once you`ve put the time and effort into coming up with a sound trading plan for your stock trades, and have found a good trading opportunity, it makes sense to start the trade right. Finding a good point to enter into a position involves several issues. Fist, you must know the time frame of your trade. For a particular trend stock trades, for example, you might know that you should enter no earlier than a week before the event creating the trend. Next, you must examine charts to see where the stock trades have been and where its support and resistance levels are, and think about it`s psychological support and resistance levels as well. Last, you should wait for a pullback in price if you believe that the price is temporarily high and that it will drop and create a better buying opportunity for you.

The way to make sure you enter where you plan to is to use a limit order. A limit order is an order that can execute only at the stated price or better. Limit orders sometimes make you wait behind others who placed their orders at the same price before you did, but in most situations, placing a reasonable limit order is the only smart way to enter a position. In certain situations, it may make sense to stagger your entry by buying half the shares you want at a price you think may be the lowest the stock trades will reach, and then waiting to buy the other half either when the price does get better, averaging down, or when the stock trades starts to move, adding on strength.

The wrong way to enter a position is to chase moving stock trades. Chasing stocks is a form of panic, and it practically guarantees that you`ll pay too much for the stock. Why is it so bad to pay too much? The more you pay for stock trades, the further your risk to reward ratio is shifted away from reward and toward risk. This happens because your upside has decreased due to the high price of the stock, and because the probability of the run ending increases as the stock gets more and more expensive.

There are two ways to look at the decrease in your upside: First of all, you`ll capture less of the stock`s movement, so your percentage return will be less; second, the more the stock trades costs per share, the fewer shares you`ll be able to buy. Which means that any return you get will be multiplied by fewer shares. Remember, it doesn`t matter if you miss a trade or a position because the entry price has gotten too high. It`s not the last good trade in the market. There will always be more stock trades to make. It`s much better to miss a trade than to chase a stock and end up with a loss.

Morning gaps down present good opportunities to buy stocks you want. Buying a gap down is an excellent way to enter a position, since when a stock gaps down, it often opens near what will turn out to be the low of the day. On the other hand, buying a gap up is one of the worst stock trades you can make. The gap up generally reflects the top of the market`s level of interest in the stock. Any good news from overnight has generally been priced in, so the stock`s opening price and volatility on a gap up often establishes the stock`s high of the day. Therefore, buying, or really chasing, the gap up means that you will likely buy the stock for top dollar. A good trader buys stocks that have an upside that hasn`t been priced into the stock.

Entering a short position on a gap up is a great plan, though shorting a gap down is foolish. The opening price and volatility on a gap down often establishes the stock`s low of the day, so shorting at the lowest point would be a poor trade to make. However, if you keep these guidelines in mind, you will be able to find a safe entry point for your trade. One that fits with your trading plan, and puts you on the path to consistent trading success.

Forex Professional Market Investor Reveals A Short Cut To Mastering Stock Market Investing Rules

July 31, 2008

To operate effectively in any forex market investing environment, you need rules and boundaries to guide your behaviour. No matter what system you`ve developed, the potential exists to do financial damage to yourself - damage that can be greater than you think is possible. There are many types of trades which the risk of loss is unlimited.

To prevent this kind of loss, you need to create an internal structure in the form of guide lines that determine your behaviour so you always act in your own best interest. This structure has to be internal because the market won`t provide it for you. The markets provide structure in the form of behaviour patterns that indicate when an opportunity to buy or sell exists. But that`s where the structure ends; with a simple indication. Nothing happens until you decide to start or forex market investing; you continue to trade as long as you want; and there is no end until you decide to stop.

All the beginnings, middles, and endings of your trades are the result of your interpretation of the information available from the market. However, while the average trader may want the freedom to make these choices, but that doesn`t mean they are ready and willing to accept the responsibility for the outcomes. The reality of forex market investing is that, if you want to be successful, you have to accept that no matter what the outcome may be, you are completely responsible. Not the market, not the economy, not world events - you.

Traders who are not ready to accept this responsibility can find themselves in a dilemma: How do you participate in an activity that allows complete freedom of choice and avoid taking responsibility if the outcomes of your choices are poor? This can be accomplished by adopting a forex market investing style that is random. Random trading can be defined as poorly planned trades, or trades that are not planned at all.

Randomness in trading is unstructured freedom without responsibility. When we trade without well-defined plans and with an unlimited set of variables, it`s very easy to take credit for the trades that turn out to our liking, because in our minds we used some kind of method. But at the same time, it`s very easy to avoid taking responsibility for the trades that didn`t turn out the way we wanted, because there`s always some variable we didn`t know about and therefore couldn`t take into consideration beforehand. Random forex market investing is an unorganized approach that doesn`t allow you to find out what works and what doesn`t.

If the market`s behaviour were truly random, then it would be difficult, if not impossible, to create consistent results. If it`s impossible to generate consistent results, then we really don`t have to take responsibility. However, direct experience with the market tells a different story. The same market behaviour patterns present themselves over and over again. Even though the outcome of each individual pattern is random, the outcome of a series of patterns is consistent and statistically reliable.

These patterns can aid your forex market investing if you choose to use a disciplined, organized, and consistent approach. Many traders spend hours doing market analysis and planning trades for the next day. Then, instead of making the trades they planned, they do something else. The trades they make are usually ideas from friends or tips from brokers. By making unstructured, random trades, they are able to avoid responsibility.

Why would they do this? When you act on your own ideas, you put your abilities on the line and get instant feedback on how well your ideas worked. It`s difficult to rationalize away any unsatisfactory endings, since they`re the direct results of actions. On the other hand, when you enter an unplanned, random trade, you shrug off the responsibility by blaming your friend or broker for their bad ideas.

The nature of forex market investing itself also makes it easy to escape responsibility. Any trade has the potential to be a winner, whether you`re a great analyst or a poor one. It takes a lot of effort to create and follow a disciplined approach that will make you a consistent winner. But, if you invest the effort, you can achieve success as a trader, and reap the benefits of the market.

Build Your Credit While Still in School

July 31, 2008

College is a great time to get into trouble with credit cards. It’s just so easy to apply for them, sometimes even on campus. But it’s also very easy to get into trouble with credit cards while you’re that young.

There’s nothing wrong with getting a credit card when you’re in college. It may even be helpful if you need just a little time to pay for you books and necessities. But many students just can’t handle it.

Credit card companies often have relaxed requirements for students. This is because they know that if they can get you as a customer as a college student, they can probably keep you for many years. They also know that many students run up high balances, and so will be paying for a long time.

In other words, it can be a bit risky getting a credit card while you’re still a student. There will be temptations to abuse it. But this is one of the best times to establish your credit, when the requirements in order to get a card aren’t quite so high as they may be later in life. The trick is remembering not to abuse your card.

That means no running up the bills. Sure, partying with your friends is fun and can add up fast, but how are you going to pay it off? If you can’t pay off such things promptly, I don’t recommend you use a credit card, even for convenience.

However, learning to use a credit card responsibly is a good idea. If you get one, go ahead and use it just a little. Not so much that you can’t pay it off. Get a job if you have to.

What you’re trying to do is show that you can be responsible for your credit card. This will help you to establish a nice credit score, which is very important at various times in your life.

A good credit score does more than help you to get good interest rates when you buy a car or a home. It can help you to get lower car insurance rates. Yes, many car insurance companies also look at your credit score. So do some employers.

Despite the “easy money” feeling some people get from having a credit card, there are some definite risks to owning one. It’s easy to go overboard and to spend more than you can pay off easily. But if you can learn to manage your money well early on, including a credit card, you will have skills that will help you throughout your life.

Private Moneylenders The Real Estate Investors Secret Weapon

July 30, 2008

Real estate investments are very lucrative and offer a variety of other benefits such as tax deductibles and asset appreciation. However, it is beyond the financial means of most real estate investors to pay the cost of their property up front. Such investors have to obtain a home loan from private lenders or financial institutions to bear the cost of their new home.

It is very common for real estate investors to procure finance in a range of eighty to hundred percent of the property value. The homeowner is required to make monthly payments to the financial company for an agreed period.

Private moneylenders or ‘hard’ moneylenders are generally third party lenders that provide the necessary funds to buy or renovate your home. In exchange, the homeowner agrees to pay a certain percentage of the profits earned after selling a property after renovation. This form of lending is mutually beneficial to both parties. It guarantees lenders better returns for their money, as the rate of interest is quite high.

The loans, often short-term loans, are especially beneficial to real estate investors who have a financial need for a very short while or who have been turned down by other financial institutions due to poor credit score. Another advantage of obtaining loans from private moneylenders is that they offer fast loans unlike many other financial companies and banks that offer loans after following a long internal procedure for loan sanctions. As a result, investors are drawn to such lenders owing to the flexibility and convenience offered by private moneylenders.

Typically, private moneylenders are most eager to work with people who have a promising venture. If a venture is good enough, they are willing to overlook their credit records. This form of financing can prove to be extremely expensive as such loans attract very high interest rates as compared to other banking and financial institutions. Another difficulty is that such lenders are quite hard to locate as compared to other traditional lenders.

People, who have surplus liquid cash and are on the lookout for ways to multiply this amount in a short period of time, become private moneylenders to provide funds to borrowers who are in need of quick cash.

However, it should be noted that all private moneylenders differ in their dealings and the amount of funds provided and the repayment terms may greatly differ. They may charge an interest in the range of 12% to 18% and have a well-drafted loan agreement to secure their investment. They may finance 50% to 75% of the home value post renovation for a period ranging from six months to five years.

The funds can be held in trust or escrowed until the renovation project is fully completed.

How Are Finance Charges Calculated

July 30, 2008

Whether you are shopping for a new credit card or wondering about the one that you may already have, knowing how to calculate the finance charge applied to that card is important. First, however, it is equally important to know what finance charges really are.

A credit card finance charge is the amount of money that you pay to the credit card company in order to use their credit. This is not the same as the purchase amount balance. The purchase amount balance is the dollar amount of the purchases that you made using the card. If you pay off the purchase amount balance within the stated amount of time that the company allows, you will have no finance charges applied to the amount. It is when you carry over your balance that finance charges are triggered and added to your account.

Finance charges are calculated using the amount of your outstanding balance and APR. The APR is the Annual Percentage Rate and all credit cards use them to figure finance charges. It is important for consumers to understand that the ARP can vary from one company to the next, and it can even vary within the same company. It is for this reason that consumers should always look for the companies with the lowest APR’s. This will save you money in the long run.

There are several ways that credit card companies can calculate the finance charges that they apply to consumer credit. Many people do not realize it but the method that is used can make a difference in the amount of money that you will have to pay. Here are some of the methods that credit card companies use to figure finance charges on your outstanding balance:

They can calculate using one billing cycle or two billing cycles.

They can use the adjusted balance, previous balance, or the average daily balance.

They can exclude or include new purchases in the balance.

You will normally find that you have a lower finance charge when the company uses what is known as one-cycle billing and uses the average daily balance method which excludes new purchases. Much of this, however, depends on the balance and the time of the month that you make purchases and payments.

The next lower finance charge method is the adjusted balance, followed by the previous balance method. You can see which method the company is using by reading the bill that you receive. This information is usually contained on the back side.

It is also important that you understand that some companies will have a minimum finance charge system. When a credit card company uses this system you will be charged that set amount even if your calculated finance charge is less than that amount.

Of particular importance to some credit card holders are the cash advance programs that come with some cards. Consumers should be very careful when using credit cards for cash advances. Many companies that offer cash advances treat those advances differently than they do purchases. Before you use your credit card for a cash advance, make sure you look for the details of how you will be charged for that advance.

You will certainly want to know what the APR is for cash advances. Keep in mind that this may be significantly higher than the APR that is used for purchases. You should also investigate the fees that may be applied to the transaction. Fees are in addition to the finance charge that you will have to pay.

Lastly, find out how your payments will be credited. Some companies will apply your payments to your purchases first and then to any advances in cash that you have taken.

Use your credit card wisely and keep track of your finance charges and you will enjoy your credit more fully and avoid some of the pitfalls that many consumers experience.

Horrible Hump Day Can Be Better With A Cash Advance

July 29, 2008

If you are one of the millions of average people who have one of those jobs that allow you to get by, but barely, then no one has to tell you what Hump day is. It is Wednesday of course, the middle of the work week with at least a couple of more days to go until payday. We are usually glad to see Wednesday come around because it means we are half way to the weekend, but that is not always a good thing if you are also out of money about this time.

It has always been a struggle for those of us who have to live on a budget that is so tight that sometimes there is just absolutely no where that you can squeeze out another $50 or $100 bucks to get us through the rest of the week. It can be a bad situation if you need gas just to get back and forth to work so you can get paid on Friday.

People that have better paying jobs may not understand how easy it is to find your self in this situation. Sometimes no matter how hard you try there is just not enough money to go around for the basic necessities of life. If you have no credit and no savings of any kind, there is just no a lot you can do.

Something that is helping many people to make it through these days is payday loans. These businesses are popping up everywhere and are the answer to prayers for some. These businesses offer short term loans for a decent fee that you can get with no credit check. The only requirements at most of these places are your most recent checking account statements and proof that you have a job.

These types of loans will allow you to obtain a small loan, usually up to a few hundred dollars, that can get you through until you get paid again. If you borrow $200 hundred dollars, the fee will normally be about $25 or $30 dollars for two weeks. If you can not repay the loan when it is due, the majority of the businesses will let you pay the fee and set the loan up again.

Now, this might seem like a good idea at the time, and if you are in a real bind, it can be helpful. Just remember that when you take out a payday loan you should never borrow more than you need because it will have to be paid back sooner or later.

Using A Real Estate Attorney in For Sale By Owner Transactions

July 29, 2008

Even though you are selling your home without an agent, the assistance of a professional is still needed at various steps in the home selling process. The requirement of a real estate attorney depends on the laws in your state. Even if you live in a state where a real estate attorney is not needed, as a for sale by owner seller, it will still be beneficial for you to use one.

An attorney can serve many purposes in the housing transaction. When you hire an attorney that specialized in real estate, that attorney is responsible for seeing that your best interests are met in the housing transaction. An attorney can act as the escrow agent by holding down payments, documentation, and earnest money deposits. Not only that, the attorney can help you decipher and evaluate complicated offers you might receive from a buyer. In the event that the lenders attorney does not handle the closing, your attorney will host and handle the closing. If the lenders attorney does handle the closing, then your real attorney will represent you in the process.

Your primary concern should be to find a real estate attorney that will provide you with assistance you need in the housing transaction. You can use a local or internet directory to find the names of some attorneys in your area. Asking friends or family who have recently sold homes for references is another way that you can find an attorney to assist you. If there are neighbors with for sale signs in their yards, you can casually inquire about the attorney they are using. Hiring an attorney that comes as a reference is often better than cold calling attorneys.

As you look for an attorney to hire, you should choose one that works primarily with real estate transactions. Avoid choosing a criminal or family law attorney that handles real estate transactions on the side. Your interests will not be best served by an attorney that does not spend a significant part of his or her time in real estate transactions. Certainly do not hire an attorney that has never worked in real estate.

Along with experience in real estate transactions, price will be the other factor you use to choose a real estate attorney. The attorney you hire will have two major responsibilities: reading and advising you on documents and representing you at closing. Get a price quote from prospective attorneys on those two tasks. You can get a discount from the attorney by letting him or her know that you will be preparing and filling out some of the documentation. Shop around among several attorneys to get a feel for experience level and price charged.

The most important thing is that you have a real estate professional available to assist you through the transaction. Even if you have successfully sold a for sale by owner home before, it is better to have legal assistance than to attempt to complete the process on your own.

What To Do When Your Credit Card Is Lost Or Stolen

July 28, 2008

Unfortunately, wallets and purses do get stolen or lost on a regular basis. Your biggest concern is usually the fact that your credit cards are missing. If this happens to you, do you have a plan of action? Well, you should. It really isn’t as daunting to come up with a credit card action plan as it seems like it should be. All reputable credit card companies have a set policy that helps to protect you against loss or theft. All you need to know is how to get this policy to work for you.

Help! My Credit Card Was Stolen!

Never fear, help is here! The first thing you need to do is report the stolen card to the company as soon as possible. Most companies have a toll-free number or an online service that deals solely with this problem.

Fortunately for you, federal law dictates that you are only liable for the first $50.00 of any fraudulent charges made on a charge card. Still, you are required to report the lost or stolen card even though you’re not going to take a huge hit. Here’s a little extra incentive to make the call fast: If you report the loss or theft before any unauthorized use, you don’t even pay the $50.00.

Many card issuers are waiving the $50 exposure, so check the details on your credit card offer.

After the card is gone, make sure you pay attention to every charge on the bill. Whatever shows up that isn’t yours, notify the card company in writing immediately. Make sure to include in the letter the date in which you notified the company that your card was lost or stolen and send it to the billing errors address. Do not send the letter with your payment. It will get lost in the shuffle.

If your card was a debit card, things may work a bit different. The amount of liability you are responsible for depends directly on how quickly you report it lost or stolen. If it is done before it has been used, again you are not responsible for any fraudulent charges. If you wait, even as little as two business days, you could be held liable for up to $500.00 of any fraudulent charges found on the card.

Once your card is gone and you have reported it, review your bills. Make your bank aware of any questionable deductions from your account that occurred during the time your card was lost or stolen. A phone call is great, but follow it up with a certified letter and include the day you reported your card stolen or lost. This should absolve you of any liability.

The best way to avoid stolen or lost cards is to keep track of them. Know where they are at all times and keep your pin number a secret. Also, don’t use a pin number that is easy to figure out such as your birth date or phone number. Make it a number that only makes sense to you and keep it that way.

Credit Card Balance Transfer How To Use It To Your Advantage

July 27, 2008

A credit card balance transfer is not right for everyone. Just like most of the options in the world of finance there are some definite benefits to getting your own balance transfer credit card as well as some pretty significant downsides. The key to success with any kind of balance transfer or any other financial product or service is to first learn all that you can about that particular subject before you can understand how to use it to your advantage. Never jump into getting a balance transfer credit card without all the facts, this is where so many people end up in hot water, they leap before they look and when it comes to money that is always a bad combination.

The benefits of a balance transfer are great in many cases. For example who doesn’t want to be able to switch the balance from one credit card with high interest to one with no interest at all? That is exactly what you can do when you have a new credit card that is still enjoying its interest free period. Of course if you do not have one of these you may simply want to perform the credit card balance transfer in order to enjoy a lower interest rate. This can save you thousands of dollars a year if you are looking at a significant amount of credit card debt.

There is a growing movement of consumers who are getting credit card after credit card so that they can constantly perform balance transfers. This is easy to do as all you need is to make sure that you are approved for a new credit card when the interest free period of your old one runs out, ensuring that you can simply perform a credit card balance transfer to the new card and once again enjoy paying no interest. Sounds easy, right?

This kind of balance transfer is straightforward and anyone can do it if they have a halfway decent credit rating. And if you can control your spending habits it might even be a good idea as the balance transfer credit cards will allow you a nice amount of breathing room and the time you need to start paying off the principle rather than just the interest on your loan. If on the other hand, you are like most people and you find it hard to not spend money when you can, then a credit card balance transfer is probably not the best solution for you.

There is nothing more difficult than curbing spending. If you have the available space on your credit card, are you going to be able to say no to those wonderful jeans you saw in the store window? What about that fantastic stereo you just saw the other day? Can you resist them? You must be able to if you want to use this technique of avoiding interest with credit card balance transfers. If you are in doubt then find another way!

More and more balance transfer credit cards are hitting the market today because the industry is recognizing what a powerful tool balance transfers can be for consumers. Everyone wants to save some money and the sad fact is that it can be very difficult, especially since having credit cards makes it so easy to spend more than we actually have. A credit card, especially a balance transfer credit card, can be a powerful weapon in your financial management toolbox; you just need to know your limits and your weaknesses. That is the only way to avoid trouble with balance transfers.

A credit card balance transfer could be your saving grace; then again perhaps it is the wrong solution for you. The only way that you can be sure is to learn all you can about the credit card balance transfer process and all of its pros and cons.
